Susanne Wiest works as a childminder and is an activist. In 2008, she submitted a petition to the German parliament to consider the implementation of a basic income. Within a very short time, she was able to gather more than 50,000 signatures. She achieved major public impact yet again as president of the German basic income party. During the federal elections of 2017, they got almost 100,000 votes.
